Justice, Justice, You Shall Pursue

At Or Zarua, we strive to create a just and kind world of integrity by pursuing social justice initiatives both within our congregation and with our interfaith neighbors.  We view such actions to end injustice and oppression, recognizing that we are all created B'tzelem Elohim/ in the image of G-d,  as core to our spiritual lives. It is our moral Jewish obligation to work towards equity and justice.

We do this through Anti-Racism, Anti-Gun Violence, and other Social Justice work. We assist refugee families through hands-on assistance with tutoring, setting up homes and providing needed items, partnering with HIAS in this holy work. 

We help those with food insecurity through delivery of food and basic items for daily living. We are active supporters and advocates for LGBTQ rights, and we are a J-Proud community.  And we do all of this work as Interfaith Partners with Old Haverford Friends Meeting, Bethel AME Church of Ardmore, Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, Gladwyne Presbyterian Church, Beth David Congregation, the Baha'i Community, and other local area churches and synagogues.
